The Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday that it shot down 22 Ukrainian drones over the Black Sea, after the Russian governor of Crimea, Mikhail Razvozhaev, accused Ukraine of an attempted attack with unmanned equipment.
“Overnight [de sábado]22 Ukrainian attack UAVs were detected over the Black Sea by air defense,” military spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in the daily report.
According to him, the drones were shot down by anti-aircraft missile systems or by electronic means.
Hours earlier, Mikhail Razvozhaev assured on his Telegram channel that Ukraine “sent more than 10 drones to Crimea and Sevastopol” overnight.
Over the past 14 months, the Russian-annexed Ukrainian peninsula has been the target of several attacks attributed to Ukraine.
The military offensive launched on February 24, 2022 by Russia in Ukraine -justified by Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for Russia’s security, according to his arguments- was condemned by the majority of The international community, which has responded by sending weapons to Ukraine and imposing political and economic sanctions on Russia.
