Ukraine’s military intelligence services denied any involvement in the drone attack on the Kremlin on Tuesday, pointing out that Russian opposition or internal power factions may be involved in the alleged attack.
“There is an official position of Ukraine and the Ukrainian leadership: we are not involved and we don’t need anything like that,” said Ukrainian military intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov.
Russia blames a drone attack on the headquarters of the Russian presidency in Moscow on Tuesday on Ukrainian troops with the support of the United States.
The Ukrainian spokesman stated that Ukraine is focusing all its actions on the “clearance” of the areas invaded by Russia on February 24, 2022.
Yusov suggested the possibility that the attack was launched by resistance forces against Russian President Vladimir Putin in the country, or even factions vying for power within the Kremlin itself.
At the same time, Yusov also did not rule out that the attack was a diversion orchestrated by Putin.
The spokesman made these statements in an interview with the Ukrainian press, quoted today by the Ukrainian military intelligence services on the Telegram social network.
