Dozens of Catholics in Venezuela celebrated the 106th anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady of Fatima to the Little Shepherds, presented a copy of the statue of the Virgin and approved the project for the local construction of a replica of the chapel of the apparitions, in Caracas.
“We welcomed a replica of the Virgin of Fátima, brought directly from Portugal, who came to stay with us, as the start of the construction project of the first replica of the Capelinha (of the apparitions) of Fátima in Venezuela,” said a source of the organization to the Lusa agency.
According to Andrea Acevedo Vargas, the statue, which measures 1.15 meters, was donated by someone who was in Portugal and ordered it from a specialist shop near the Sanctuary of Fátima.
Regarding the local construction project for the small chapel, he explained that it will be built by ABC Prodein, a Christian charity organization that promotes the integral development of communities, founded in 1968 by Father Rodrigo Molina, in Peru.
ABC Prodein is headquartered in Spain and is present in 11 countries. Since 1983 he has also been in Venezuela, where he launched Moda Jacinta, clothing inspired by the shepherdess of Fátima, Jacinta Marto.
At the ceremony, in which several Portuguese descendants took part, three children were dressed as little shepherds, accompanied by girls from the Vicariate da Santíssima Trindade choir.
