The head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andri Yermak, this Sunday denounced a Russian attack on Saturday evening in the city of Ternopil (western Ukraine), where the duo Tvorchi, who represented the Ukrainians in the Eurovision Song Contest, come from.
According to Yermak, the attack almost coincided with the participation of the duo formed by producer Andrii Hutsuliak and singer Jimoh Augustus Kehinde (aka Jeffery Kenny) in the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool (UK) on Saturday night.
At least two people were injured in the attack, according to Yermak’s Telegram account.
The attack came in the middle of a major Russian night offensive, which uses drones and missiles launched from aircraft and warships based in the Black Sea.
The Ukrainian army reported that twenty-five drones, mainly of the Iranian type Shahed-136/131, and three cruise missiles had been shot down by Ukrainian defenses.
Russia said on Sunday that Russian troops attacked western weapons depots and Ukrainian troops in the western city of Ternopil and the eastern city of Petropavlivka.
The Russian army “carried out an attack with long-range and high-precision aerial and naval weapons against the deployment points of the Ukrainian army,” the defense ministry said in a statement issued by Russian news agencies.
“Depots for ammunition, weapons and military equipment received from Western countries” were also hit, he said.
