Former US President Donald Trump has ridiculed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after technical problems delayed the formal announcement of his White House bid on Wednesday.
I know Ron. While he made the announcement, he will rule the country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, referring to technical glitches at the DeSantis presidential candidacy announcement event.
What would be the first campaign event for the governor of the US state of Florida, and which hundreds of thousands of people would be trying to access, was constantly interrupted on Wednesday, when Twitter’s servers apparently couldn’t keep up with the increased traffic.
Trump did not spare criticism of this problematic launch of the candidacy for the Republican Party’s primary elections, held in the company of the owner of the social media platform, Elon Musk, saying that “it was a catastrophe.”
The former president even shared a satirical video that simulates the presentation of the candidacy and in which the FBI, Adolf Hitler and the Devil appear as actors.
Trump and DeSantis have a broken relationship, despite the fact that in 2018 the then tenant of the White House was the main campaign promoter of the candidate for governor of Florida.
Polls indicate that Trump is the most likely candidate to vote in the Republican primary, well ahead of Gov. DeSantis or Sen. Tim Scott.
