In addition to electing the next president, Brazilians will also elect parliamentarians on October 2, in a race filled with more extraordinary candidates such as activist Dário, a proponent of cannabis legalization, porn actor Kid Bengala or ex-clown Tiririca.
A week before the first round of elections in Brazil, candidate for federal deputy, Dário, who plans to represent voters in Minas Gerais, published a video on the social network Tik Tok in which he appears to be dancing for the legalization of cannabis (marijuana) consumption.
“Ox, bullet and Bible, this just embarrasses us, now we want to see the marijuana bank,” reads the chorus of the parody in which the Party and Socialism and Freedom (Psol) candidate appears to be dancing with other people, initially published in Tik Tok, but it went viral on other platforms and social networks used in the country.

The success of the election campaign of the candidate who defends the decriminalization of marijuana – the drug is completely banned in Brazil – it was so big that comedian, writer and actor Gregório Duvivier released a video asking him for votes: “potheads of Minas Gerais, unite around Dario”.
Among the 10,629 candidates for federal delegate registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), the former pornographic film actor known as Kid Bengala, who is running for União Brasil for a seat in Congress to serve the people of the state of São Paulo also attracted attention.
In his campaign videos, the actor guarantees that he “cannot handle that wrinkled congress any longer” and that “the time has come to grow Brazil”.
“I decided to innovate to put the ‘stick’ in this mess. I’m going with everything,” said Kid Bengala in a video on his TikTok channel, which has nearly two million followers.
An old acquaintance of the Brazilian public, deputy and former clown Tiririca is running for the Liberal Party (PL) for a fourth term in Congress for São Paulo.
Tiririca, who became the country’s most elected deputy in 2010, this time appears dancing in a campaign video, addressing his voters by saying, “Vote for me, motherfucker!”
In October, Brazil will elect the next president, the governors of its 27 states, 513 federal deputies, 27 senators and hundreds of MPs who will integrate the state assemblies.
The presidential elections in Brazil have the first round scheduled for October 2 and the second, if necessary, on the 30th.
Ten candidates are running for the Brazilian presidential election: Jair Bolsonaro, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Ciro Gomes, Simone Tebet, Luís Felipe D’Ávila, Soraya Tronicke, Eymael, Leonardo Pericles, Sofia Manzano and Vera Lúcia.
