At least three people were killed and five injured in a shootout at a 2016 rally motorcyclists according to local media Saturday in the state of New Mexico.
The shooting took place around 5 p.m. local time (12 a.m. on a Sunday in Lisbon), while 20,000 motorcyclists were taking part in an annual rally of motorcyclists of Memorial Day in Red River, a small town in New Mexico.
In a video interview for the local newspaper Questa Del Rio NewsRed River Mayor Linda Calhoun confirmed the deaths and injuries and said an undetermined number of suspects had been arrested.
“No police officer, no rescuers were injured. No local people were injured… It was a gang-related incident,” said the mayor, who declined to reveal which gangs were involved. “All the shooters have been arrested,” he added.
O Taos news reported that a police officer referred to the incident via radio communication as “an ongoing shootout – between the Banditos (motorcycle club) and others”.

Speaking to local ABC affiliate KOAT, a witness described the incident as an outburst of chaos in the crowd. “There were people running around where we were yelling, ‘There’s shooting over there,'” Eddie Cook, the witness, said. “As everyone was running, I heard the shots.”
This shooting prompted the mayor of Taos to impose a curfew between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. and ban the sale of alcohol, the government said. Taos news.
