The Turkish opposition on Sunday denounced irregularities in the second round of presidential elections, such as physical attacks on election observers in the southwestern region and false votes.
The social democratic party CHP reported the existence of voting on behalf of people not on the lists, the registration of the deceased as voters and the delivery of pre-filled forms.
Party vice president Ozgür Özel said a former Istanbul MP and several election observers in Sanliurfa were beaten after denouncing irregularities.
Through a publication on the social network Twitter, Özel indicates that the incidents took place in the village of Karaali.
Former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu also said on social media that he received information about voting from unregistered people.
This Sunday’s election faces Turkey’s current president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Social Democrat Kemal Kiliçdaroglu.
In the first round of the presidential election, Erdogan won 49.5% of the vote, nearly five points ahead of Kiliçdaroglu.
