Up to 99.23% “yes”: Unsurprisingly, Ukraine’s annexation referendum scores are final

100% of the ballots were counted in the Ukrainian regions of Zaporizhia, Kherson, Luhansk and Donetsk. According to the preliminary results shared by the pro-Russian authorities, the “yes” to joining Russia collects between 87.05% and 99.23% of the votes.

Elections without suspense. After the pro-Russian authorities of the Ukrainian regions of Zaporizhia, Kherson, Luhansk and Donetsk very quickly affirmed the victory of the “yes” in favor of annexation by Russia on Tuesday, during the annexation referendum, the first results are known detailed. The victory of the “yes” is resounding.

Clear results

The best example: the Donetsk People’s Republic. After counting 100% of the votes, the electoral commission indicated that 99.23% of voters were in favor of joining Russia. In Luhansk, the score is also very high: 98.42% of voters voted yes, according to the Russian agencies Ria Novosti and Interfax, themselves collecting information from the region’s electoral commission.

The other two regions affected by these referendums are also unanimous. In Zaporizhia, the electoral commission of the region indicated that 93.11% of voters had voted in favor of joining Russia and specified that it was a preliminary result, even if 100% of the ballots were withdrawn. In Kherson, 87.05% of voters voted “yes” after all the ballots were counted, according to pro-Russian authorities in the region, who spoke on Telegram.

The legitimacy of these referendums is widely questioned by the international community, for whom it is only a unilateral annexation maneuver by Russia.
