Ukraine: European Commission accuses Putin of “lack of seriousness” to end war

The European Commission on Tuesday accused Russia’s president of “lack of seriousness” in ending the war and deemed the bombing of Ukraine’s capital over the past 24 hours “heinous and barbaric”.

“In the past 24 hours, Kiev has endured three waves of Russian drone and missile strikes. […]the capital becomes the target of attacks every day, contributing to the shelling of towns and cities on the frontline”insisted the spokesperson for the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Peter Stano, at a press conference in Brussels.

According to Brussels, “Putin lacks seriousness to end this war” and the attacks of the last day “show that Russia continues to horribly and barbarously terrorize the Ukrainian population”.

Ukraine’s capital has been bombed three times in the past 24 hours. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 29 of the 31 “drones” aimed at Kiev have been intercepted.

On Sunday, 11 ballistic and cruise missiles were fired at the capital.
