Russia evacuates 600 children from Belgorod border region

Russian authorities this Saturday announced the urgent evacuation of 600 children from towns near the border between the Belgorod region and Ukraine, which have been the target of bombings over the past two weeks.

“We will continue to evacuate children. Today 300 will be sent to spend the night in Kaluga and another 300 will go to Yaroslavl.”Belgorod Governor Viacheslav Gladkov said in a message via the Telegram network.

The same official, quoted by Efe, recalled that another 500 children from the Shebékino and Graivoron regions, most affected by the bombings, had already been transferred to the Voronezh and Penza regions.

Referring to the bombings in the region, he estimated that this Friday caused the deaths of four people from the impact of projectiles on a road and in the backyard of a residential house.

Among the injured are two children aged 11 and 13.
