Governments of Portugal and Angola signed 13 bilateral cooperation agreements

This Monday, the governments of Angola and Portugal signed 13 bilateral cooperation agreements, mainly in the economic and financial fields, in a ceremony chaired by the Angolan head of state, João Lourenço, and by the Portuguese prime minister, António Costa.

The most important agreements, on the Portuguese side, were signed by the Finance Ministers, Fernando Medina, and by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, João Gomes Cravinho, respectively: Increase in the business credit line from 1,500 million euros to two billion of euros; and the Strategic Cooperation Program (PEC) 2023/2027.

The agreements contemplated an agreement between the ports of Sines and Algarve and the Sociedade de Desenvolvimento da Barra do Dande and, among other areas, training and laboratory support for food safety, a memorandum involving criminal investigation in this area.

Agência Lusa signed a training protocol with the Angola Journalists Training Center.

In statements to journalists, the President of the Portuguese Government said that the figure of 13 agreements had been reached, since in recent days Caixa Geral de Depósitos closed three financing contracts.
