Serious worries in the middle of the Red Sea. Three British tourists are missing on Sunday after their motor yacht caught fire off the coast of Egypt, authorities said.
“Fifteen British passengers, ten crew members and two tour guides” were rescued, according to a statement from the Red Sea Governorate.
The search continues to find the three missing tourists, according to this press release.
A fire on board
It was after a six-day voyage, which was due to end on Sunday, when the fire broke out aboard the Hurricane ship, when it was 25 kilometers from the resort of Marsa Alam, in the Red Sea.
An electrical malfunction in the engine room caused the fire, authorities said.
The Red Sea is a major tourist destination in Egypt. On Thursday, a shark killed a Russian man in the Egyptian city of Hurghada.
