Gasoline, which is around 2 euros per liter, diesel, around 1.90 euros: as the start of the school year approaches, fuel prices at the station are at high levels. Logical consequence: professionals are sometimes forced to pass this increase on to their own prices.
This is the case of Jordan Morisset, a catering provider, with a tank full of diesel and which now represents a significant budget, between 130 and 140 euros:
“We explain it to customers, due to the inflation of raw materials, of gasoline, that we have to pass it on to them,” he explains to BFMTV.
“I’m not going to take revenge on my clients”
Roland Gonsalès, a craftsman, has also noted a constant increase in prices since 2020. From a total average of 26 euros, it went to 32 euros in 2021 and 35 euros in 2022. He made the decision not to increase his prices, for the moment. :
“If I raise my prices, I fear I will have much less activity (…), I will not take revenge on my clients for the increases by the oil companies,” Roland Gonsalès explained to the BFMTV microphone.
Since July 7, diesel has increased on average by almost 17 cents and gasoline by 13 cents, according to weekly readings from the Ministry of Ecological Transition. Increases that are mainly explained by the price of a barrel of crude oil and the higher demand during the summer.
