After a relative stabilization at the end of August, fuel prices continue to rise at the beginning of September. Diesel was thus quoted last week at 1.86 euros per liter on average in France, which represents an increase of 3.5 cents, according to the latest statement from the Ministry of Ecological Transition dated Friday, September 1.
Unleaded gasoline 95-E10 rose 0.9 cents, with an average price of 1.9265 euros per liter.
Gasoline near its maximum of the year
After a drop before the start of summer, gasoline is thus close to its highest level of the year, with 1.94 euros per liter on April 7.
An outbreak that provoked many reactions: Xavier Berttand, LR president of Hauts-de-France, asked for the return of the fuel discount applied last year.
This increase since the beginning of summer is mainly due to the rise in the price of crude oil. Last week the barrel of Brent from the North Sea rose another 1.6 dollars to settle at 86.4 dollars a barrel.
