We have to go back to the first week of July to see such “low” prices. According to the latest weekly statement from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the liter of diesel and the liter of SP95-E10 fell below 1.80 euros per liter last week.
In detail, diesel was priced on average at 1.7812 euros per liter, two cents less than the previous week. A liter of gasoline cost 1.7828 (-3.6 cents).
This drop in fuel prices occurs in a context of continuous decline in oil price for several weeks, while a barrel of Brent was trading last week at $81.9 (-$0.5).
Oil prices started the week lower again on Monday, with the humanitarian truce between Israel and Hamas calming prices and investors awaiting the OPEC+ meeting this week.
Shortly before noon, a barrel of North Sea Brent, for delivery in January, lost 1.58%, to $79.31. Its US equivalent, a barrel of West Texas Intermediate (WTI), for delivery the same month, fell 1.79% to $74.19.
