Delayed many times, it is now ready to be delivered. The first Cybertruck, the electric utility vehicle produced by manufacturer Tesla, will be delivered this week, Elon Musk confirmed.
“Cybertruck deliveries start Thursday,” the Tesla boss wrote soberly on X.
A vehicle with a very futuristic silhouette and presented as “more versatile than a pick-up and more efficient than a sports car”, the Cybertruck was presented to the public in November 2019. A presentation that gave a lot of talk, both for the design of the all-terrain vehicle as well as its windows that turned out to be more fragile than advertised. At the time, Tesla promised three versions of its Cybertruck for a retail price ranging from $39,000 to $69,000.
Mass production begins in 2024.
Last October, Elon Musk announced that one million people had already reserved his electric van.
However, only 10 Cybertrucks will be delivered on Thursday during an event hosted at Tesla’s Giga Factory in Austin, Texas.
According to ABC News, mass production of the vehicle, which is not currently sold in France or Europe, should begin in 2024 and peak in 2025, with 250,000 vehicles manufactured each year.
