In BFM Business this Monday from the Paris Motor Show, Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis) shows his anger at the European Union elections regarding electric vehicles.
Lamenting the absence of an “impact study” (on the consequences of the ban on the sale of combustion engine vehicles in 2035 decided by the European Union), the manager believes that we have “rolled out a red carpet for Chinese manufacturers”.
“Dogmatic and naive decisions
“We see that the dogmatic decisions of the European Union have laid out a red carpet in front of Chinese manufacturers, so the situation has to be handled with the spirit of competition that characterizes us,” said Carlos Tavares.
Decisions that Carlos Tavares considers “naive”. “The strategic approach was not 360°. We do not pay enough attention to the energy issue, to the charging network. We take automakers hostage,” he says.
