New record for Rolls Royce. The British luxury car manufacturer has just published its commercial results for 2023 and is especially pleased with the success of its first 100% electric model “Spectre”.
Sales driven by North America and China
In total, 6,032 models were delivered to customers last year, 11 more than in 2022, a record in its 119-year history, with global sales driven by North America and China.
Already in 2023, the manufacturer of the famous and iconic British luxury cars had recorded a historic sales peak.
CEO Chris Brownridge, who replaced Torsten Muller-Otvos, who resigned at the end of November, expected “another bumper year for Rolls-Royce”, with “strong sales across all regions”.
Beginnings in electricity
Rolls-Royce, acquired by BMW in 1998, also delivered its first Specter in the fourth quarter, the company’s first fully electric model, which is part of the goal of manufacturing only electric vehicles by the end of 2030.
“It is particularly encouraging to see the enormous interest and demand for Specter, which reinforces the decision to adopt a bold, all-electric strategy” for the future of the group’s models, adds Chris Brownridge.
About 180 jobs were created last year at the company’s headquarters in Goodwood, southern England, bringing the plant’s total workforce to 2,500 people, according to the press release.
