The German automaker BMW announced on Wednesday an investment of 1.7 billion dollars (1.73 billion euros) in the United States to produce batteries and electric vehicles in the country.
“BMW continues to roll out its plan towards electromobility (…), the group said in a press release, specifying that this investment would be used mainly to “prepare the production of electric cars” at the Spartanburg factory in South Carolina, on largest BMW plant in the world.
Remember that in the United States, the granting of financial aid for the purchase of an electric car will soon be conditional on local production.
