It is a scourge that grows every year: the French are increasingly more aggressive behind the wheel. Thus, according to the 14th responsible driving barometer of the Vinci Autoroutes Foundation, 67% of drivers insult other drivers and, at the same time, 88% fear the aggressive behavior of other drivers.
“It can be violent,” summarizes a Parisian driver to BFMTV, “if a verbal exchange gets out of control, it gets out of control.”
Bad behavior is increasing. According to this study, a third of drivers even admit to having deliberately hit another user’s vehicle, which bothers them.

“There is a state of excitement in society that is driving again, the road has become a place of confusion,” adds Ronan Chastelier, sociologist and professor at Science Po Paris, on BFMTV.
“The simple act of entering the cabin produces a kind of metamorphosis and gives rise to all forms of decompensation, we are no longer the same,” he continues.
And, unfortunately, only a serious accident changes the behavior on the road of 92% of the drivers surveyed.
