It is one of the names that immediately comes to mind when we talk about Dacia: Duster. Launched in 2010, this mid-size model has democratized the SUV for many buyers, especially in France.
2 and a half million copies have been sold since its launch and, although the third generation has just been marketed, Dacia already announced 30,000 orders at the end of April. Here we leave you some new features that caught our attention in this new Duster. A more complete test is available here, in our special episode dedicated to this model of En Route Pour Demain.
A more robust and square design
What immediately catches your eye is the new look of the Dacia Duster. Squarer, more robust, it contrasts with the previous generation. The front is very vertical and the side windows widely surround the body. The protective belt, the design line that marks the entire circumference of the vehicle, is located slightly higher.
A cabin with a new touch screen
Dacia has renewed the interior of the Duster, which notably adopts the new Y-shaped light signature on the doors or air vents. This Duster III now has a display for the gauges. A new 10.5-inch touch screen appears in the center of the dashboard. It should be noted that the basic version does not have the latter, always with the objective of containing prices.
In the rear, a small novelty: two USBC ports that allow passengers to also charge their smartphone.
Duster goes hybrid
This is one of the main novelties of this Duster III: the arrival of a hybrid engine. The Duster adopts the E-Tech hybrid engine, like the Jogger or, in Renault, the Clio. This 140 horsepower engine has a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and an electric machine coupled to a small battery, which is recharged thanks to deceleration phases.
A first prize of less than 20,000 euros
More than two thirds of the customers of the second generation of the Duster opted for a high-end finish, but Dacia continues with this Duster III by offering access versions at very competitive prices, particularly for its historical customers who are always looking for the best price equation. /service
