A busy weekend eve on the roads of France. In fact, Bison Futé has classified the day of Friday, May 17, as red in the sense of departures and at a national level, that is, the forecast of “very difficult traffic.” In terms of profitability, it won’t be much better with a nationwide orange day, synonymous with “difficult traffic.”
In fact, it will be the last long weekend before the summer holidays, with numerous leisure trips, “especially if the weather is good,” underlines the traffic forecasting body. Heavy traffic amplified by the flow of travel between work and home at the end of the day.
Blackheads that you should avoid on Friday
In this context of significant traffic expected this Friday in the main cities and their surroundings, Bison Futé makes several recommendations:
- leave or cross Île-de-France before 12 noon.
- Anticipate the closure of the A13 leaving Paris by taking alternative routes as far in advance as possible.
- Avoid the A31 motorway, between Nancy and Luxembourg, from 4 to 6 p.m.
- Avoid the A25 motorway, between Lille and Socx, from 3 to 8 p.m.
- Avoid the A11 motorway, between Angers and Nantes, from 4 to 6 p.m.
- Avoid the A63 motorway, between Bordeaux and Bayonne, from 4 to 8 p.m.
- Avoid the A7 motorway, between Lyon and Marseille, from 4 to 11 p.m.
- Avoid the A50 motorway, between Marseille and Toulon, from 4 to 8 p.m.
- Avoid the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205), between France and Italy, from 12 to 8 pm.
The A13 motorway will remain closed to traffic between Paris and Vaucresson, so Bison Futé advises motorists from Ile-de-France wishing to reach Normandy this weekend to take the A14, A15 or N12.

France turns orange on Saturday in the direction of departures. The main difficulties should be concentrated on the axes that serve the Mediterranean arc (A7 and A9), on the Atlantic coast (A63 and N165) and in Île-de-France.
