Fuel shortages: in which departments does the shortage persist?

After ten days of a significant improvement in the situation at service stations, total or partial breaks are still observed in several places in France, in particular in the Paris region or near Lyon.

More than 20% of service stations were still experiencing fuel supply difficulties in 25 departments on Wednesday despite a general improvement in the situation, with the Paris region the most affected, according to official data.

Although the refinery employees’ strike only affects two TotalEnergies sites, in Normandy and in the Rhône, 14.5% of service stations nationwide still lacked at least one type of fuel (petrol or diesel), compared to 21% on Monday. , on a sample of 9,900 stations that served it on September 20, before the strike movement.

One out of every three stations in total rupture in Yonne

Almost 10% of the stations did not sell fuel on Wednesday, a drop of 3 points since the beginning of the week, according to data available at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday on the prix-carburants.gouv.fr site transmitted by the seasons. that it did not necessarily sell all fuels in normal times.

The situation remains more tense in the Parisian region, with 62% of stations affected by lack of fuel at least in Hauts-de-Seine, 50% in Paris, 46% in Val-de-Marne and the 42% in Seine-Saint-Dennis. In Paris, a third of the stations are completely dry, compared to 16% in Hauts-de-Seine and a fifth in the other departments in the inner periphery of the capital. In Val-d’Oise, 21% of the stations did not sell fuel.

It is in the Yonne that the total breakage rate is the highest, with 34% of stations serving neither diesel nor gasoline. The situation has improved, however, in Puy-de-Dôme, the most affected department at the beginning of the week with 58% of stations with partial or total scarcity and which now appears in eighth position with 37% of stations with at least less fuel.

More difficulties with gasoline than with diesel

Other departments where it is still more difficult to find fuel: Nièvre (39% partial breaks, 24% completely dry stations) and Yvelines, with 40% of stations without at least one fuel and 10% without selling any.

The Rhône department remains in difficulty, with 16% of stations without fuel and 31% affected by shortages, as is Haute-Savoie (9% and 29% respectively). The situation is less tense in Bouches-du-Rhône, with Marseille, where 13% of stations continue to encounter difficulties.

The shortage of gasoline is much more frequent than that of diesel: 13% of the service stations that offered it on September 20 did not sell it on Wednesday, compared to 7% for diesel. At the height of the strike, just under half of France’s stations ran out of fuel, of which a third were completely dry, according to various estimates.
