Another difficult day on the roads lies ahead. Bison Futé has classified this Saturday, July 20, as red throughout the country, in terms of departures. Returns will also be difficult, with an equally red day from Brittany to the north of France via the Centre and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions.
Leave Île-de-France before 6am
Bison Futé therefore advises leaving Paris or crossing the Île-de-France before 6 a.m., which gives an idea of the difficulties the forecaster expects.
More generally, Bison Futé advises avoiding:
- via the A7 motorway, between Lyon and Orange from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and between Orange and Marseille from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- by the A9 motorway, between Orange and Montpellier, from 12 noon to 3 pm, between Montpellier and Narbonne from 11 am to 1 pm and between Narbonne and Spain, from 11 am to 4 pm.
- On the A10 motorway, near Orleans from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., between Tours and Poitiers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and between Poitiers and Bordeaux from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- on the A63 motorway, between Bordeaux and Spain, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- via the A75 motorway, between Clermont-Ferrand and Béziers, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- the N165 national road, between Nantes and Quimper, from 4 to 6 pm.
- the Mont-Blanc tunnel (N205), between France and Italy, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A quieter Sunday
The roads will be quieter on Sunday. Only the Île-de-France region will experience some difficulties: it is classified as orange both in the direction of departure and return. It is recommended to cross or leave the Paris region before 8 a.m.
Major roads such as the A7 motorway between Lyon and Orange, the A6 between Beaune and Lyon or the A75 between Clermont-Ferrand and Béziers should also be avoided at midday when leaving. Indeed, this Sunday is also classified as orange in Auvergnes-Rhône-Alpes.
