A Halloween celebration that was cut short. On Thursday, a Dutch couple dressed as Batman and Catwoman were stopped near Châtelet-sur-Sormonne (Ardennes) in a Porsche after being accelerated to 203 km/h on Highway 304, reports L’Ardennais.
An unusual encounter for the gendarmes of the Ardennes, who did not stop joking: “This Halloween, our operator organized a meeting between superheroes, but it is not always the one we think we identify,” the gendarmerie wrote in a post on Facebook. And he added: “The truth is that Batman and Catwoman had to call Alfred Pennyworth, their butler, to continue their trip. In fact, the Batmobile headed towards the dog pound after a serious speed violation.”
“Our superheroes took it very well”
The couple seems to have taken the situation without hard feelings, to the point of agreeing to pose. The publication is accompanied by photographs in which we see in particular the masked driver on board his vehicle approaching the tow truck to be taken to the warehouse.
“Our superheroes took it very well and participated in the photo game with our superhero/older man…” confirms the gendarmerie. “The control went very well (…) The driver admitted that he was driving too fast,” Captain Rufin, commander of the departmental road safety squad, tells the Ardennes.
In addition to immobilizing the vehicle, the couple had to pay 750 euros in bail. The driver also had his license confiscated for at least 72 hours. He faces a fine of up to 1,500 euros and a ban from driving in France for three years.
