What is the cheapest new electric car on the market? In France, the Citroën ë-C3 should in theory surpass the Dacia Spring, the latter deprived of the 2024 ecological bonus (at least 4,000 euros) for being produced in China. The herringbone-shaped city car, made in Slovakia, can benefit from this. Enough to see its price go from 23,300 euros to 19,300 euros, taking this subsidy into account.
The first 100% electric Dacia, with a redesigned version launched at the beginning of’years’However, it is just below this price, 18,900 euros. A logical difference, however, is that the C3 offers more versatility.
But the new cheapest electric car on the French market… could’be even more.
A “basic” spring in Luxembourg and Belgium
In Luxembourg, Dacia sells a version called “EcoSmart” starting at 10,240 euros. A version that has’a 45 horsepower engine, compared to France’s 65 horsepower.
This Primavera’s equipment is also limited with a trim level of’“Essential” basic level that’We do not offer it. we still have the’7-inch measuring screen, “Media Control” (the smartphone holder that replaces the’basic touch screen in Dacia), d’a reversing radar and electric windows in the’Before.
As for style, it is also necessary’Expect a minimal service, with only two colors to choose from, a white offered at no additional cost and a green (or “Lichen Khaki”) at 500 euros. And we have 14-inch wheels with hubcaps, associated with the 45-horsepower engine, compared to the 15-inch wheels and the 65-horsepower engine.

This Luxembourg spring does not benefit from’a public subsidy, but’a particularly aggressive commercial offer, from October 1 and until’until December 17, as can be seen in the legal notices. The list price of 16,429 euros without option is also reduced with a “Dacia EcoSmart bonus of 6,188 euros”, that is, a final score of 10,241 euros.
Less than 8,000 euros with the flamenco bonus
In Belgium, spring s’shows a little more expensive than’in Luxembourg, at 10,590 euros. Same logic as its neighbor, with a list price of 16,990 euros reduced by 6,400 euros with this same “Dacia EcoSmart”.
But its price could be even more interesting, benefiting from’a public subsidy in the Flemish region: an aid of up to 5,000 euros that ended on November 22 as’Automobile Propre recently explained.
The amount of this subsidy was limited, however, to 25% of the price of the vehicle, or in the case of the Spring a price reduced to 7,942 euros. Closer to the price than’we can see in a high-end bicycle, highlights the Belgian site Gocar, or’a Citroën AMI without a license, from 7,990 euros.
If Dacia does not currently plan to market this version in France with the small 45 horsepower engine and this “Essential” finish, it remains a possibility. Without taking the’Extreme example with this Flemish bond, which would allow the starting price of Spring to drop from 18,900 to just over 10,000 euros, a drop of 45%.
