Therefore, it is a Renault that succeeds a Renault. After last year’s Scénic, it is the turn of the electric R5 (and its Alpine version, the A290) to be crowned Car of the Year 2025 (“Car of the Year” as its official name).
The R5 and A290 finished at the top of the podium, ahead of the Kia EV3 and Citroën C3.
“We have seven winners, with the cars that are on this stage,” said Soren W. Rasmussen of FDMM Motor during the ceremony. “But we have to choose.” The R5 quickly took the lead, after voting from 7 countries out of a total of 24 voting groups.
“We need this to break the glass ceiling in the adoption of electric cars in Europe,” declared one of Renault’s directors during the trophy presentation, congratulating the French manufacturer’s teams in the process.
The jury is made up of 61 journalists from the main European media, specialists in automobiles and mobility.
