New recall in the United States for Tesla. The electric vehicle manufacturer has announced the recall of more than 239,000 vehicles due to faults in the on-board computers that cause reversing camera failures. The reversing camera allows you to identify obstacles when maneuvering or reversing. Loss of rearview camera footage causes vehicles to fail to meet federal highway safety requirements.
This anomaly is believed to be the result of a software configuration sequence and cold temperatures. Models 3, S from 2024-25 and Models X and Y from 2023-25 are affected.
Software update and replacement of on-board computers.
According to information from CBS News, the manufacturer has developed a remotely operated software update to fix the problem. The group also said it was working to “identify all vehicles affected by a circuit board failure” and “replace all affected on-board computers free of charge.” So far, no collisions or injuries related to this malfunction have been reported.
This alert follows a spate of different recalls in recent months. In December, 700,000 vehicles were recalled due to a tire pressure monitoring problem. Last July, it was a software failure that prevented the driver from being alerted in the event of a poorly closed hood.
In 2024, Tesla is the manufacturer that has recalled the most cars from the market in the United States.
