The Toyota Yaris Cross remained the most produced car in France in 2024. In total, 206,679 examples left the Onnaing (North) factory last year, according to data published by the Inovev company.
Production increased by 3.3% compared to 2023 for the SUV version of the small Yaris and a reflection of the success of the hybrid, which allows its consumption to be reduced compared to a simple gasoline version, and more accessible than 100% electric models.
A model widely exported outside France
“The Toyota Yaris Cross achieves its best sales in Italy (20% of Yaris Cross sales), France (17.6%), Germany (17.3%) and England (11%),” highlights the study by the Inovev signature.
Far behind the Yaris Cross, is the Peugeot 3008 produced in Sochaux, with 127,017 units produced last year, compared to 111,415 in 2023 (+14%) and in the context of the launch of a new generation of the SUV.
In third place, another Peugeot, the 308, assembled in Mulhouse, with 92,962 units, a decrease of 7.3% compared to the 100,361 examples produced in 2023.
The most productive factory in France
The Onnaing factory also produces the Yaris urban vehicle, in addition to the Czech Kolin plant and the Mazda 2. A complementary production that allows this plant to establish itself until it becomes the assembly plant located in France that produced the most vehicles in 2024: 279,613 units, or 2% more than in 2023.
Behind them are the Stellantis factories in Sochaux (174,618 units, almost stable compared to 2023) and Renault Maubeuge, specialized in light utility vehicles (159,724 units, that is, almost 30% more than in 2023), highlights the Inovev company. .
