“The decree can move”: in the Great Paris, the defeations for the ZFE are not necessarily frozen

Grand Paris hardened his ZFE regulation this year, but without verbalization. The metropolis has this “educational year” to possibly adapt the repeal system.

Since January 1, 2025, new regulations have been implemented in areas of low emission (ZFE) of several important metropolis. The General Director of Services of the Metropolis of Grand Paris, Philippe Castanet, guest of Under Way for Tomorrow on BFM Business, has given details about the system, this Saturday, February 1.

In the Grand Paris, vehicles criticize 3 and more are prohibited from traffic during the week, during the day, but they can still benefit from 22 display per year through the “ZFE Passes” system. A corresponding figure, according to ZFE estimates, on two trips per month, in addition to weekends, enough to respond to all problems.

However, prohibited traffic vehicles will not be verbalized immediately since the metropolis in the Great Paris chose in 2024 to establish an educational year with motorists. “We will not establish a verbalization system considered too unfair,” reassures Philippe Castanet, who says that “there will be no parking control” in the ZFE of Grand Paris.

In other metropolis, including Lyon, different rules can be applied.
