“We consider this as a positive step in the right direction to do justice to our oppressed Palestinian people and support their legitimate right to self -determination,” Hamas wrote in a statement.
A decision that “encourages terror,” according to Israel
The Islamist movement calls “all countries of the world, especially European nations and those that have not yet recognized the state of Palestine, to follow the example of France.”
The French president indicates that “the solemn announcement” of the recognition of the state of Palestine “in the United Nations General Assembly, next September.” France will then be located with Saudi Arabia at an international conference at the level of the heads of state and government aimed at relaunching the solution of “two states”, Palestinians and Israeli.
For the tenant of the elysée, “we must guarantee the demilitarization of Hamas, safe and rebuild Gaza.”
Through a message on his social networks, Emmanuel Macron explains that “peace is possible” in the Gaza Strip, reiterating his call to “a high fire, the liberation of all hostages and mass humanitarian aid.”
For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “firmly condemned” the recognition of the state of Palestine by France. A decision that “encourages terror,” according to the Hebrew state manager and “runs the risk of creating another Iranian agent.”
