Renault and Nissan announced on Monday that they agreed to reorganize their February 2023 agreement, seeing their alliance with the key to the possibility that the two companies descend to 10% of cross shares, instead of 15% currently.
The new agreement also establishes the transfer of the participation of 51% of Nissan in the Chennai factory, of which Renault would take the total control and production of the French manufacturer in the European continent of a vehicle derived from Twingo in the name of the Japanese company. Nissan is also “released from his commitment to invest in amps,” according to the press release.
