Tesla’s records continue to collapse in France. According to the figures published this Thursday, May 1 by the Automobile Platform (PFA), the Californian brand recorded in April a 59.23% decrease in its records, or only 868 new cars placed on the road. In April 2024, with so many business days, Tesla had delivered 2,129 vehicles. The same happens in January, February or March 2025, where the records had exceeded a thousand vehicles (3,159 in March, for example). Therefore, the fall was particularly marked in April.
Since January, the decrease has been a little less marked, but it is still important, with 44% less records. Tesla has recorded less than 10,000 vehicles during the first four months of the year (7,564 cars precisely) in France. It is less than that of Renault 5 during the same period (11,454 copies registered since January).
Several months of falling sales
Tesla has been submitting to opposite winds in the automotive market for several months. It is in full renewal of its range, with the gradual arrival of the new model and, its best -selling SUV, in this first quadimeter in France and Europe.
While some buyers have been able to delay their purchase to have this new model, some analysts evoke tiredness as much as the style of Tesla models and the absence of new real models in the Cybertruck range (which is not marketed in Europe).
The competition is also provided more among other general doctors in the French market, with the arrival of new smaller models such as Renault 5 or Citroën ë-C3 or the new Peugeot 5008 in this segment of large SUVs.
Elon Musk’s political positions and his commitment to Donald Trump also raise questions in this decrease in sales. Many actions (manifestations, but also degradations) have been carried out on both sides of the Atlantic in recent weeks to protest against the head of the media media of Tesla.
