Emergency services were alerted in the morning, around 10:30 am, the local press reports, including Savoie Pays. Traffic in both directions in the A40 has been interrupted.
“Automatic incident detection,” said an alert “indicating the stop of a vehicle,” explained the roads and the du Mont-Blanc tunnel (ATMB), reports the local station. And to add: “Contacted at 10:35 am by the driver of the truck that reports a problem, the PC security equipment found the start of a fire in the vehicle at 10:38 am and immediately alerted emergency services.”

“Currently, the soldiers of the late Haut-Savoyards are fighting the flames inside the Vuache tunnel. Many fire and rescue media are committed, avoid the sector,” completes SDIS firefighters in the same social network.
