How Dacia could sell an electric car for less than 15,000 euros

Can the future inhabitant of Dacia Electric City compete with Chinese cars? While Byd has just launched its surf Dolphin in Europe with an initial price of just under 20,000 euros, the low -cost brand of the Renault group must launch its next zero broadcast model at the end of next year.

A model called “Evader”, according to Le Parisien, which estimates that its price could be low 15,000 euros, including an ecological bonus. Renault had already indicated that he wanted to offer this cousin of the future Twingo for less than 18,000 euros.

With the bonus that should go from 2,000 to 3,000 euros in the coming weeks, the final invoice for the client, therefore, would go under this symbolic threshold of 15,000 euros. And even less for modest homes, with help that could reach 4,200 euros. However, the main stranger: difficult to provide if these purchase aids will be maintained next year.

These future models of less than 20,000 euros

Produced in China, the spring of Dacia, its small electric car was launched in 2021 and was redeemed last year, saw its sales return since it can no longer benefit from the ecological bonus in France. The implementation of the environmental score in early 2024 excludes, with rare exceptions, the models produced outside of Europe.

Since the beginning of the year, the spring of Dacia is thus found in the ninth place in the sales of new electric cars in France, 3,000 units, far behind the podium occupied by the Renault R5, Citroën ë-C3 and Renault Scenic, three models that are eligible for the ecological bonus.

This is not the case with the Dolphin Surf byd, which has its price accuracy report to seduce customers: the basic version offers 19,990 euros, an 88 -horsepower engine, with a small 30 kWh LFP battery with 220 km of autonomy.

The Dacia Spring currently starts at 16,900 euros, but with a 45 -house engine for a range quite close to 225 km. But it is smaller than its Chinese competitor (3.99 meters against 3.73 meters long for spring). Dolphin Surf offers so many standard equipment, as a 10 -inch touch screen, an investment chamber and an adaptive regulator.

Meanwhile, the future Renault Twingo and his cousin in Dacia, Citroën, must soon launch a more affordable version of its ë-C3, with a reduced battery, for 200 km of autonomy and a price without bonus below 20,000 euros.
