Judicial information was opened on April 16, particularly due to the aggravated deception and endangering the lives of others, in the Airbags failure of the Takata manufacturer that caused dead in France, said the Paris prosecutor’s office on Friday, June 20, the AFP requested.
The investigating judges could also be seized of the three fatal accidents that occurred on December 28, 2021 in Martinica, on November 18, 2023 in the Hautes-Pyernées and on June 11 in Marne, which gave rise to local surveys, said the Prosecutor’s Office. Many vehicles built between 1998 and 2019 and equipped with airbags from the Takata brand can cause serious or even fatal lesions to the driver and the front passenger.
The Ministry of Transportation and prefects abroad launched an information campaign for motorists, to encourage interested drivers to change their Takata air bags without delay.
