Second consecutive week of drop in pump prices. After the mechanical rise caused by the drop in fuel discounts on November 16, prices fell again last week.
On average in France, diesel was sold at 1.8202 euros per liter, 4.1 cents less, and 95 E10 unleaded at 1.6951 euros per liter, 3.6 cents less, according to the latest price statement from the Ministry of Ecological Transition arrested on Friday, December 2.
A drop that does not compensate another
Prices are thus close to their level prior to the drop in discounts: the government’s had dropped from 30 to 10 cents on November 16, and that of TotalEnergies, which complements it at its stations, from 20 to 10 cents.
On November 11, diesel was quoted at 1.802 euros per liter, that is, 2 cents less than in the statement of December 2, and 95 E10 unleaded at 1.6174 euros per liter, that is, 8 cents less .
Barrel price continues to decline
A decline in prices at the pump that can be explained by a drop in oil prices. Indeed, a barrel of Brent from the North Sea stood at 84.4 dollars last week, that is, 3.1 dollars less than the previous week.
The end of the supply tensions, with many service stations partially or completely stopped in recent weeks, may also have contributed to this calm in prices.
Fuel discounts must disappear completely on January 1 to make way for a device focused on big rollers.
