School holidays: a peak of 349 km of traffic jams on the roads at noon

In the middle of the weekend of crossing between zones B and C, Bison Futé foresees particularly heavy traffic on the roads.

A peak of traffic jams of 349 km was registered at noon on Saturday at the national level, a day classified as orange in the sense of returns to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the Parisian region, according to Bison Futé.

In Île-de-France, traffic on the A6 should be particularly heavy going back and forth between early afternoon and the middle of the night.

In Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, they are the axes that connect the most congested ski resorts, in particular the A43, between Lyon and Chambéry, with more than 100 km of accumulated traffic jams. At 1:00 p.m., Vinci cleared 32 km of congestion on the A43 in the outbound direction and 18 km in the outbound direction.

More than 33 km of traffic jams on the A40

In addition to the A43, where driving is not recommended between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., more than 33 km of traffic jams were recorded at noon on the A40, in Ain, and more than 16 km on the A6, in Yonne.

The trips this weekend correspond to holidaymakers from zones B (Marseille, Lille, Strasbourg, etc.) and C (Paris, Toulouse), who are starting their second week of school holidays.

This weekend also marks the start of the second week of the Carnival holidays in Belgium, the southern part of the Netherlands and the start of the school holidays for the northern and central parts of the Netherlands.
