Fuel prices fall again, especially diesel

The price of diesel fell 2.8 cents last week in France, with an average of 1.81 euros per liter. Gasoline, for its part, lost almost a cent, at 1.8687 euros per liter.

After a slight rise the week of February 13, fuel prices fell again last week. According to the latest statement from the Ministry of Energy Transition, closed on Friday, February 24, the average price of diesel in France fell 2.8 cents, to 1.8101 euros per liter. For its part, unleaded gasoline 95-E10 loses 0.9 cents, up to 1.8687 euros per liter.

Prices with a downward trend since the end of January

As can be seen in the following historical curve, fuel prices have shown a downward trend since the end of January, after the rise at the beginning of the year linked to the end of the State and Totalenergies rebates.

Despite a relatively low price per barrel for crude oil, with Brent still down $3.2 to $81.7 last week, concerns remain, especially against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine.

Fears that led Totalenergies to announce the cap on the price of fuel at its stations at 1.99 euros per liter from March 1, and from February 25 on highways, and until the end of the year. An effort estimated at 600 million euros by the management of the French oil company.
