Fuel prices had a downward trend last week, according to the latest statement from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, with prices set on Friday, April 21.
Unleaded gasoline 95-E10 fell 2.3 cents to settle at 1.9132 euros per liter on average in France. The fall was even greater for diesel, which lost 3.8 cents, with an average price of 1.7621 euros per liter.
If we look at the historical curve, gasoline is ending several consecutive weeks of gains since mid-March. On the diesel side, the gap is widening with unleaded after this new price drop. A difference of 15 cents that has never been so important since the price of a liter of diesel fell below that of gasoline at the beginning of February.
Crude oil remains on its side at fairly low price levels: a barrel of Brent from the North Sea was last Friday at $85.4, $2 less than the previous week.
