Stellantis mercredi published a chiffre d’affaire of 47.2 billion euros in the first quarter, in a 14% stake for the first quarter of 2022, thanks notamment à l’amélioration des provisionnements en semi-conducteurs et des hausses de Prize.
1.47 million vehicles sold
The group with 14 brands, including Fiat, Chrysler, Peugeot and Citroën, sold 1.47 million vehicles in the first quarter, up 7% year-on-year, while its EV sales rose 22%.
Stellantis improved its turnover worldwide, starting with North America (+10%), the group’s largest market.
Dodge and Chrysler models improved sales, but Stellantis fell in terms of market share compared to the first quarter of 2022.
The group is preparing the launch of new vehicles there, such as the Ram 1500 REV, the brand’s first electric vehicle, which will be presented at the New York Auto Show before its launch in 2025.
Stellantis also plans to launch nine new electric vehicles in 2023 and will have 47 100% electric models by the end of 2024, a number that has doubled in two years.
In Europe, Stellantis declines
Also in Europe, Stellantis’ market share fell compared to the first quarter of 2022 despite an increase in sales (+6%) and turnover (+10%).
This drop is linked to the logistical problems the group is facing and which have not been fully resolved, according to the group’s financial director, Richard Palmer.
But, as with North America, Stellantis has increased its market share compared to the last quarter of last year.
On the other hand, Stellantis maintained its leadership position in South America and improved its turnover by 55% in Africa and the Middle East.
In China, India and Asia-Pacific, sales rose just 5%, hurt by the decline of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Compass.
Stellantis maintains its 2023 targets with a double-digit operating margin.
