Fuels: slight rise in diesel and gasoline prices

Diesel rose 1.4 cents last week to stand at 1.68 euros per liter on average in France. The rise was less for gasoline, which is at 1.85 euros per liter.

Fuel prices are rising again. Last week, diesel took 1.4 cents, to stand on average in France at 1.6797 euros per liter on average in France.

For its part, the unleaded 95-E10 increased 0.4 cents, to 1.8469 euros per liter, according to the weekly statement of the Ministry of Energy Transition, closed on Friday, June 9.

a slow ascent

After a significant drop that began in mid-April, fuel prices slowly began to rise. Since May 12, diesel has risen 2 cents per liter, gasoline 3 cents.

The difference between the two fuels thus remains at a historically high level, with diesel 16 cents cheaper than gasoline, a record since 2016.

The barrel of Brent from the North Sea remains at a relatively low price, 76.3 dollars, 2 dollars more than last week.

In the midst of high inflation and before the summer holidays, the Government last week called on highway companies to make a gesture for motorists.

There is no discount planned at the moment on the side of the fuel distributors. Totalenergies committed at the beginning of the year to limit the price of fuel to 2 euros per liter and some large retailers continue with their specific fuel operations at cost price or 1 euro per liter, paying the difference in the form of vouchers.
