Prices are stable in supermarkets, as shown by our BFM basket. At the national level, the bill for our selection of around fifty products among the most purchased by French consumers this week amounts to 182.05 euros, only 0.01 euro more than last week. But if the basket seems almost immutable as a whole, the situation is more contrasting if we look at the detail of the products.
+11 cents for toothpaste
Some products have experienced sharp falls this week. We can mention toothpaste, whose price fell 11 cents (-3.94%), disinfectant 12 cents (-3.16%), lasagna 9 cents (-1.64%) and sanitary napkins 7 cents (-1, 25%).
On the opposite side, some products show clear increases: an additional 14 cents for potatoes (+4.81%), 11 cents for laundry detergent (+1.71%), 10 cents for dishwashers (+4.84%) and apples (+3.93%).
The Côte d’Azur is becoming more expensive
In addition, the differences are accentuated at the regional level. This week it is in Brittany where our basket is the cheapest with a total of 179.63 euros, 10.4 euros more than that of the Côte d’Azur, which is still the most expensive with 190.03 euros.
The gap between the most expensive region (still the Côte d’Azur) and the cheapest has never been so high since the start of the BFM basket: there was only a difference of 4.94 euros last week and 6.96 euros two weeks before .
