Liberal nurses get a raise in certain fees

Liberal nurses have gotten an increase in some of their fees. The fixed travel allowance will increase from 2.50 to 2.75 euros. The agreement provides for the generalization of the package for dependent patients.

Liberal nurses have obtained an increase in some of their rates, in an agreement signed by Social Security and two representative unions. The agreement signed by the FNI (National Federation of Nurses, the main union of liberal nurses) and the Sniil (National Union of Liberal Nurses) provides for a 10% increase in the fixed travel allowance, which will go from 2.50 to 2, 75 euro.

The agreement also provides for the generalization of the package for dependent patients (BSI), which until now was reserved for those over 85 years of age. These two provisions “recognize and value the essential role of private nurses in the strategy of keeping patients at home”, welcomed the Sniil in a press release. On the other hand, the Convergence Infirmière union denounced the “great contempt” that, it said, showed the agreement.

The agreement also provides for a grant of 15,000 euros (17,000 euros abroad) for liberal nurses who wish to train as an advanced practice nurse. An additional two years of study are required to achieve this status, which allows for more independent care.

Social Security is currently immersed in several renegotiations of agreements (or endorsements) that govern the rates for acts of health professionals. A new agreement is being negotiated with dental surgeons, and new modifications with midwives, chiropodists-chiropodists, physiotherapists and speech therapists.
