“The payment of extraordinary support is individual” and therefore the order of support payments “will be given by the Tax Administration (AT), using in the first instance the IBAN that appears in the registration of the Finance Portal,” said an official source of the cabinet led by minister Fernando Medina against Lusa.
However, in cases where taxpayers do not have an IBAN in the register (personal area) of the Finance Portal or have declared the IBAN of an inactive account, “the transfer of support is ordered to the IBAN that appears in the model of the income tax statement 3 income tax for 2021”.
“In this situation, both holders will receive support on the IBAN bank account indicated in the income tax return,” the ministry adds.
Consulting or updating the IBAN that appears in the register on the Finance Portal can be done at any time, on the Finance Portal, the office emphasizes.
At stake is the extraordinary aid of EUR 125 per adult and EUR 50 per dependent to families, announced by the government in the package of measures to offset the impact of the price increase, which will be paid by bank transfer from 20 October.
If it is not possible to pay out the support on October 20 due to insufficient information or invalidity of the IBAN, AT will repeat the transfers monthly for six months.
The family support package to mitigate the impact of inflation was announced by the government on September 5 and will cost 2.4 billion euros worldwide, according to the executive.
Support is provided to residents with a declared annual income of up to EUR 37,800, and beneficiaries of certain social benefits are also covered.
