The Portuguese economy is expected to grow by 2.5% this year and 1.2% in 2024

The Portuguese economy is expected to grow by 2.5% this year and 1.2% in 2023, according to forecasts from Allianz Trade, shareholder of Companhia de Seguro de Créditos COSEC, released this Monday.

Specialists from Allianz Trade have therefore revised upwards the projections for the Portuguese economy for 2023, now predicts national gross domestic product (GDP) to grow by 2.5% in 2023 and 1.2% next year.

In the last quarter, specialists expected the Portuguese economy to grow by 1% in 2023 and 1.2% in 2024.

In the same vein, the 2023 forecasts for the Eurozone have been revised upwards, pointing to growth of 0.5% this year and 1% in 2024.

In terms of inflation, projections suggest that Portugal will end the year with an inflation rate of 5.3% and 3% in 2024, close to the Eurozone average, which will have an inflation rate of 5.6% this year and 2, 6% in 2024 should register. towards the target of the European Central Bank (ECB), which is an inflation of almost 2%.
