Unrest. The Mayor is open to “cancellations of social and tax charges for the most affected merchants”

The Minister of Economy supported the merchants affected by the riots by promising them “economic support”.

When traveling to Arpajon (Essonne) to meet with the merchants, Bruno Le Maire said that he was open on Tuesday for “the merchants most affected” by the riots of the last few days to benefit from “cancellations of social and tax charges”.

On the side of the insurers, the latter accepted “at the request of the government, to postpone from 5 to 30 days the term to make the claim declaration.” “They also agreed to the government’s request to consider reducing the franchise for independent traders who would have been most affected,” the Bercy tenant continued. Finally, “they undertook” to provide “compensation as soon as possible.”

“Go about your business!”

These measures should allow traders to “resume their activity” by having “the necessary financial support,” Bruno Le Maire said. “Continue with your activity! Every merchant in France throughout the territory must be able to carry out their activity in peace, without fear,” he continued.

Beyond the economic support measures, he assured that “the first response to these facts is the most total firmness, the authority of the State. It must be respected throughout the territory, to all our fellow citizens”.
