Anti-competitive practices: Spain imposes a fine of 194 million euros on Apple and Amazon

The two groups “agreed to include a series of clauses in the contracts that govern” the sale of Apple products by Amazon.

Apple and Amazon, regularly in the crosshairs of European regulators, have again been singled out for anti-competitive practices. The tech giants are accused of “restricting competition” in Amazon Spain’s distribution of Apple-branded products. They are thus fined 194 million euros.

The two groups “agreed to include a series of clauses in the contracts that regulate” the sale of Apple products by Amazon “that restrict competition”, the National Commission for Markets and Competition has justified in a press release ( CNMC).
