What solutions does Jamf Software offer?
Jamf’s mission is to help organizations succeed with Apple. We provide solutions to manage and secure your fleet of Apple devices, whether they are Mac, iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, to companies, universities, hospitals.
Why is security an important topic for your business?
This has grown in importance in recent years, especially as the scope of the business has shrunk. We are increasingly connected everywhere, and the question is how to secure access to corporate data without compromising the user experience. This means preserving the battery of Apple devices, having a seamless mobility experience, not having to connect to a VPN server or company-provided network. Protecting the network also means protecting company data. Jamf helps protect Apple devices, access, user identity, and the network without compromising privacy or the user experience.
How is the current context affecting your market?
The big trend in the market is the evolution of the architecture of Apple, which has turned its back on Intel chips to launch its Apple Silicon M1 and M2 chips. It is the convergence between the mobile world and the computer world, a real change in the daily use of computers. Our role is to enable this new mixed fleet management for a better business user experience with features like touchless deployment, for example.
More and more companies are migrating to Apple, whereas until now the Microsoft Windows ecosystem was dominant. Whether it is the company that provides the Apple devices or the employee that comes with theirs, we adapt our solutions to these scenarios that have multiplied, especially since the pandemic and the rise of remote work. For example, we have developed a BYOD solution that allows users to use their personal phone for work without giving their employer access to their personal data. This trend has accelerated and Jamf is perfectly positioned.
What developments will mark your news?
We’re launching our Jamf Trust offering, which helps protect mobile devices against threats like malware, phishing, or man-in-the-middle attacks, where someone impersonates a fake Wi-Fi network. We detect these attacks and secure the connection between the device and corporate resources.
We also developed Jamf Unlock: a technology that changes the way we access corporate offices. Physical badges are complicated to manage and a bit dated. We all have connected smartphones or watches, so Jamf will initially offer its employees the ability to have a virtual badge stored in the Apple Maps app.
We’re rolling out iPads around the world in schools, middle schools, and high schools, and this back-to-school, we’re launching Jamf Safe Internet, to protect students from malicious content throughout the school. This is an unprecedented offer on the market: the student will have the same level of protection wherever they work, whether at school or at home.
